Our spacious, 2 bedroom, 4th floor apartment overlooks the communal pool with an open view of the Mediterranean from a large balcony having areas of both sun and shade throughout the day. There are two lifts both from the secure underground car park which houses your own personal space.

The apartment comprises of:
* Fully fitted kitchen with oven, halogen hob, fridge / freezer/ clothes washer / dryer, extraction hood and all kitchen utensils.
* The dining area has sideboard unit and table and chairs to seat 6 people in comfort.
* The lounge area has a two seater and three seater settee with coffee table and sideboard / TV unit. The three seater settee converts to a large double bed. Patio doors lead to the balcony.
* Satellite TV, Video recorder and DVD player are included as an optional extra.
* One of the double sized bedrooms is fitted with large built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside units and a double bed. The view from the window is clear to the close by Mediterranean.

The apartment is on the fourth floor of the five floor Palazzo Vivaldi complex completed in July 2003. It is built in the prestigeous Las Salinas area of Roquetas de Mar and has been designed for people seeking a holiday retirement / pre-retirement apartment in the sun.

Local Area Details

Unlike the usual Spanish holiday sunspots, Roquetas de Mar is relatively quiet. Life here tends to be at a more gentle pace. With over 3,000 hours of sunshine and the lowest rainfall in Europe, the temperature is invariably warm. Roquetas de Mar is made up of three areas ? the town, the harbour area and the Urbanisation (the resort). The castle is open daily and admission is free. At the port, fishing and pleasure craft sit side by side with cafes, restaurants and bars (with free Tapas). Just past the port is the old town where a large market is held on three out of four weeks per month, spread amongst the many shops. The new shopping area of Gran Plazza is one of the biggest in Andalucia and is on the edge of the new, prestigious development of Las Salinas.
The Las Salinas area (location for Palazzo Vivaldi) is 1 kilometre from the marina.
It is a square kilometre of new development, with new wide boulevards being extensively planted, a shopping mall with cinema, a new theatre, bullring, aquarium and sport stadium.
The existing promenade which reaches Las Salinas from the marina will be continued through to the neighbouring resort of Aguadulce.

The pretty resort of Almerimar (40 minutes by car) has harbourside shops and restaurants. San Jose, an unspoilt Spanish seaside village is about 1 hour by car. Again about an hour by car is the town of Nijar which is famous for its colourful pottery and jarapas (handwoven rugs and blankets).
The pretty Moorish hilltop village of Mojacar is an easy drive from Roquetas De Mar.

Many films - including Lawrence of Arabia and spaghetti westerns like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - were filmed in Almeria.

Volcanic cliffs, sand dunes, salt flats, small secluded coves and quiet fishing villages make up the nearby Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata (a natural park 1 hour drive away) which is famous for its wildlife and flora.
Flamingoes and avocets are just two species to be found in this beautiful environment.

Organised excursions about two hours long are available to the city of Granada, famous for the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens. The palace and its gardens are the most famous and most spectacular of the Moorish architecture remaining in Spain following the Reconquest.
The city of Granada is fascinating and well worth a number of visits.

Rising to 11,145 feet at its highest (the Pico Veleta), the Sierra Nevada mountains (90 minutes) have snow lingering until July and offer excellent winter ski-ing.

The largest shopping mall in Southern Andalucia, the Gran Plaza is only about a 10 minutes level stroll from Palazzo Vivaldi.

Gran Plaza is a superb new shopping and entertainment centre having a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as a new cinema and bowling alley. At its centre is a major supermarket, with wide aisles and a vast range of products.

Marble floors, fountains, plants and seating areas are a feature of the mall, which is an inviting place to shop or browse, eat or just enjoy a coffee or a drink.
