Local Area Details

The friendly village of Montalbert(at 1350m) is situated on a balcony/shelf of the Tarentaise valley and forms part of the vast La Plagne-Paradiski area, but with a more traditional feel than the higher resorts. Under normal conditions, snow cannons ensure your return from the higher slopes through the pretty treelined runs back to the village, with floodlit skiing on some nights. The piste is just 5 metres from the door of the chalet residence and a short 200m downhill takes you to the chairlift and village centre (with draglift back up). Great for: cross country skiing, nearby Olympic bobsleigh and taxibob, husky dog sleigh rides. Excellent facilities including creche, private and group ski lessons, equipment hire, mountain guides etc. Easy access by air to Chambery,Lyon or Geneva; skitrain/Eurostar from London Waterloo(to Aime at foot of mountain); coach from London Victoria; or by car via Calais.
