Nestled in the foothills below the Virgen del Saliente Monastery in northern Almeria lies Carpe Diem comprising three cortijos with variable accommodation. Surrounded by mountains and almond trees it gives the visitor a taste of the real Spain in this beautiful part of Andalucia.

Cortijo Almendra is a newly renovated two bedroom cottage with an American-style, open plan kitchen/lounge/diner and a wood-burning stove. The cottage boasts original features including a traditional bread oven and rock outcrops in the lounge and one of the two bedrooms. It is equipped with satellite television. The main house has an internet access point that guests may use.

There is a patio area to the front of the cottage for barbecues etc – or simply to sit and enjoy a bottle of the excellent Spanish wine whilst the sun sets.

Cortijo Almendra offers large, spacious accommodation with access to a salt-water swimming pool, but if extra accommodation is needed we can offer a further en-suite bedroom with independent access.

Carpe Diem is well situated for trips to the beaches of Mojcar Garrucha and elsewhere approximately 40 minutes away or to the beautiful lakes at Baza only an hour away Also within easy driving distance is the famous city of Granada one and a half hours and the ski slopes of the Sierras Nevada And at the end of the day you return to the calm and tranquility of our beautiful rural location away from the hustle and bustle of these tourist attractions There is excellent shopping in Chirivel and in Albox only a short distance away which has a wellstocked British supermarket and a weekly traditional market on Tuesdays
