No 5 Mews Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage in Hope Cove near Kingsbridge in Devon. The cottage is ideally suited for a family holiday or exploring Devon, with the South West Coastal Path being a short distance away.

Hope Cove is between Salcombe and Kingsbridge in South Devon and is in the South Hams district. This is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

Mews Cottages, once a stable block, surrounds a flowered courtyard and pond. Number 5 Mews Cottage has attractive views to the rear over a valley. The very well maintained gardens are approximately 2 acres, giving ample space for children to play. There is also plenty of parking for cars, trailers and boats.

The cottage is homely and is of high quality. Mews Cottage No.5, Sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms (1 Double & 2 with singles and a double sofa bed in the living room). The Cottage contains a full range of equipment, fridge, cooker, microwave and TV. We provide duvets, pillows and blankets. (Linen and towels can be provided for an additional charge). There is a shower cubicle on the ground floor with separate toilet. It is a two-storey, two bedroomed cottage, open plan living room with kitchen area. The double bedroom has a hand basin and has an interconnecting door to the 2nd bedroom. The changeover day is Saturday.

There is a separate Laundry Room which contains a metered washing machine and tumble dryer together with irons and ironing boards and a hoover for guest's use. There is also a freezer.

At dusk badgers come into the garden to feed!

Hope is Old English meaning "small enclosed valley". It perfectly sums up this delightful village which slopes down to two attractive award winning beaches. The village, once a fishing community, remains uncommercialised. Hope Cove is reached by way of very narrow winding lanes from the A381 Salcombe to Kingsbridge road.

The oldest part of the town, called Inner Hope, clusters around the beach, where there is a slipway for launching boats.

The South West Coast Path runs through the village, and gives access to the tiny church, perched on a cliff above the beaches. There is a small car park (not free) halfway up the road from Inner Hope.

The cottage is situated on a complex and is about 400 meters from the beaches, P.O./Village Store. There is a Restaurant and Pub. There are several Hotels dotted about the village, all of which will cater for non-residents.

The main towns nearest to Hope Cove are Salcombe and Kingsbridge, with Plymouth being the nearest City.

There is much to see and do in the South Hams, adventure parks, National Trust properties and gardens, steam trains, river trips, zoo and wildlife centres, a magnificent aquarium and of course, walking and sailing and riding. The beautiful scenery of Dartmoor is a little over half an hour's drive away.
