Our cosy 2 bedroomed village house is situated in Competa, a traditional Andalucian village nestled in the Sierra de Almijara mountains, about one an a half hours from Malaga airport. The village itself is growing with plenty of welcoming bars and restaurants throughout Competa so as not to get bored. Mind you, this is not the type of place where you will find English pubs and Fish and Chips shops but more the traditional Spanish bars, where you can hear flamenco late in the evenings. On ground floor, there is split level lounge (2 sofa beds) TV video, HiFi; second floor: modern kitchen with separate dining room through arch; third floor twin bedroom and double bedroom and top floor, bathroom, utility room with washing machine and roof terrace with superb views of village and mountain. Local Area DetailsThis is a most beautiful part of Spain, with a view of spectacular mountain areas, comprising of terraced hillsides and fertile, well-watered valleys. It has orchards of orange and olive trees watered by a unique Moorish irrigation system that was developed over a thousand years ago. The village backs on to the mountains where there is a nature reserve. Only 25 mins to the coast. Not far to the deep caves at Nerja, waterpark at Velez Malaga for the children. 1.5 hours to Malaga, 2 hours to Granada.
Additional InformationAbout Weather/Climate/TemperatureThe climate in this area is very pleasant. In the summer a sea breeze takes the edge off the heat. Even in the winter months the temperature can rise to 20 degrees with many lovely sunny days.
