Varramista is set in the heart of Tuscany, close to the artistic and cultural centres of Pisa, Florence, Siena and Lucca. Surrounded by woodlands and grren undulating hills, the estate is also within easy reach of the splendid beaches of Versilia. Horse riding and golf are available nearby, whilst those wishing "to take the waters" can indulge themselves at the adjacent thermal springs. The true taste of Tuscan wine and food can be gleaned at any of the local restaurants. There are three farmhouses sitting on gentle hills overlooking the vineyards. Lecceta, Monsonaccio and Frasca all have private grounds and swimming pools. Lecceta is divided into four spacious and comfortable apartments sleeping 5-8 each. Monsonaccio is divided into 3 apartments (4, 6, 8) and a separate "villa" for 8 people. La Frasca, which has just been refurbished, is an independent villa for up to 16 people (8 bed/8 bath) with private pool. Each house/apartment has been furnished in the local style and is provided with every comfort and modern convenience, including Sat Tv, air-conditioning, Hi-Fi system, dishwashers and internet access. La Frasca also includes DVD and microwave. The estate today produces two red wines outstanding both for quality and singularity: VARRAMISTA, the principal wine, mainly composed of Syrah grapes, and FRASCA, which is made from the local Sangiovese grapes.
