You may also enjoy our garden, barbecue and pool which has spectacular mountain views. If you hire a car you can buy groceries in the wonderful individual shops in Almogia our nearest town which is 20 minutes drive away or at a supermarket in Puerto de la Torre which is nearer to Malaga. If you prefer, give us your list and we can do your shopping when we do ours. You can have fresh bread and other produce without leaving the finca as Paco brings his “mobile shop” each morning. Mr Frosty, the ice cream and frozen food man comes on Sundays. You’ll hear his chimes as he wends his way up the mountain road!

We are having a stable converted into a cosy en suite room with two single beds. As this has an ancient olive tree outside its door it is “the olive room”. We expect the conversion to be completed by 1st March 2007.Guests will be able to enjoy all the facilities outlined above and use the kitchen and sitting room on the lower floor of the casita. This is just 15 metres from your private terrace. The charge for the olive room will also be £35.00 per night or £210.00 per week.

If you rent both the casita and the olive rooms you could use the double sofa bed in the sitting room of the casita so that you can accommodate a party of 7. (add £15.00 per person per night for more than 4 people).

The future -
As we develop our garden will also develop so that guests can find quiet spaces to walk in or to sit. If you are a keen amateur landscape gardener maybe you could exchange work for accommodation in our quiet season.We hope to add a yurt as a place of meditation at some point. As we get to know the area we will be able to recommend walks as there are so many goat tracks which lead from our door and thread around the mountains. We have 2 Mountain bikes available for hire to enable you to explore the various mountain tracks leading from the Casita.
Goat tracks mean goats and there are many in this area. You can hear the sound of goat bells as you sit in the garden and you may meet the goats when you are out exploring.

Local Area Details

El Torcal Park Nature Reserve is known for unusual limestone rock formations. El Torcal Park Nature Reserve is located about 30 km north of Malaga city in the direction of Antequera near the village of Villanueva de la Concepcion. Within El Torcal Park's 17 square km are some of the most beautiful and impressive limestone landscapes in Europe. The whole area was under sea until one hundred million years ago.

Then the violent movements of the Earth's crust forced it upward into hills and mountains up to 1.300 m, the limestone still kept its layered horizontal formation. Because of this, over the millions of years the rain and wind have been able to chisel away at these layers to form incredible shapes.

To reach the heart of the park it is possible to drive up to 1.100 m. above sea level along a good access road into the park. Simply go to the village of Villanueva de la Concepcion and follow the sign to El Torcal out of the town about 1 km. At the parking area you will find an information centre, small museum, with an interesting view of the wildlife, flora and fauna of the park. Orchid enthusiasts will be captivated by the 30 varieties of the plant growing in the park.
