This modern self catering apartment is located in a quiet area on the edge of the holiday resort town of Scalea in southern Italy.

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a small, four storey apartment block, just 200m from the beach and opposite a small family run bar/cafe. A short walk brings you into the center of town which is full of bars, resteraunts, shops and cafe's.

Inside the apartment is fitted with all the modern conviniences you would expect to find in a self catering holiday apartment. As well as air conditioning, Washing machine, TV and DVD player at your disposal.

The apartment has two bedrooms. One with a double bed, the second with a single bed that can become a second double bed if required. The large sofa bed in the living room can comfortably accomodate a further two people.

As is common with Italian apartments. The kitchen and living room are open plan. The kitchen has a gas hob and oven along with a large fridge freezer. The living room has a large sofa and table and chairs to accomodate up to six people.

Modern Scalea is a beach resort town set between the sea and the mountains of Southern Italy packed with cafes bars restaurants and shops Being located in Southern Italy the cost of accommodation eating out and shopping it extremely low. Scaleas historical center Centro Storico is a pretty hillside town that looks over the sea and the new town This area of Scalea dates back to the Byzantine era and is typical of the small mountain towns scattered all over Southern Italy Scalea is packed with history It has its own small castle its tower Torre Talao and several churches Italy Scalea beach resort Scalea is at present an almost undiscovered holiday resort outside of Italy But within Italy scalea has become an establishes and very popular destination with Neopolitans who flock to the area in the summer months.

It is worth taking European adapters as it is not possible to buy them in the town itself It is also worth mentioning that not many of the cafes and resteraunts accept credit cards Therefore it is a good idea to bring cash with you There are several banks and cash points in the town where you can draw out money.

Scalea is in easy reach of both Naples and Lamezia Terme airports Lamezia terme being the closest When travelling from the United Kinddom Ryanair run cheap flights from Stanstead to Lamezia a few days a week.

About Beaches

Scalea runs parallel to a huge expanse of beach on the Tyhrennian sea. For most of the year the sea is completly calm, warm and clear and it is possible to stand waist deep and still see the bottom. In the peak summer season the beaches are lined with lido's offering refreshments, sunbeds and snacks.

About Diving

Up until a year ago the nearest dive school was in Praia. A new dive school has just opened in Scalea and is located almost opposite the Aranella apartments.
