Local Area Details

The Craigielea Gourmet Cooking School is conducted in the Main Kitchen of the historic homestead which adjoins the suites.

Within the homestead is a private art gallery which deals in art by Australia's foremost painters and is only open to guests at the Retreat.

Hanging Rock is only a few minutes drive away, as are the wonderful wineries of our region. We are situated very close to the townships of Woodend, Romsey, Gisborne and Mt Macedon with all the antique shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants they have to offer. There are wonderful walks and wildlife through our 32 acre property, as well as the bordering State Forest, golf in not far away as are horse-riding, tennis and other sports.
