Property Details of Sardinia Apartment

From one of old town's squares, just ten small steps take you up to Casa Maiorca: a uniquely private apartment, totally renovated in June 2007, 75 sq. m., at second foor + loft (w/out elevator), with only one other apt (Studio Minorca) downstairs sharing the building.
If in a larger number, there is a possibily to rent both apts (up to 9 people).

Casa Maiorca sleeps 4-6.NON SMOKING ONLY.

Keeping the rustic charm of wooden beams, mixed with all modern conveniences, the apartment is composed on two floors: an elegant, light, open-plan living and dining area (20 m2) with television and DVD, with a large comfortable double sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen (gas-stove, oven, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer) and bathroom w/ shower.
In the loft: one double bedroom with small terrace and en-suite bathroom with shower made with pebbles; open space with two twin beds which can easily be fitted together for a second double bed.

Seafront is just 1 minute walk away and it takes only 5 minutes to walk to either the harbour and old bastions; a rich produce market is also only five-minutes' walk away; 10 min to the long white-sand enchanting beaches and turquoise sea water.
Parking: there is a public toll parking 2 minute walk from the apartment available.

Please note that car access (and parking) in the old town is reserved to permanent residents only.

Facilities included: bed linen, duvets, a set of 3 towels per person, beach towels, air conditioning/heat pumps (at reasonable usage), electricity, gas, water. Hair-dryer, iron and iron board at your disposal.
The use of the sofa bed will carry a supplement of 20,00 euro per day.
A minimum stay of three days is usually required.

If renting for a week or more the 40 EUR final cleaning fee is included in the price. For shorter stays, it needs to be added to the total. The kitchen area is excluded from the cleaning, being it your responsibility.
Due balance and final cleaning fee must be paid upon arrival in cash.
There is a Damage Sureties Deposit (caution money) of 200 EUR to be settled in cash locally, refundable at check-out, assuming no damage or misuse to the apartment has occurred.

The apartment is available from 16.30 on arrival day and until 12.00 on departure day.

The apartment has double glazed windows but being in the old town it might be more exposed to noise (or/and music) coming from nearby bars, restaurants or building sites. We cannot accept responsibility for noise (or/and music) or nuisance caused by neighbours or building sites.

Local Area Details

The apartment is located in the heart of the historic center of Alghero. From the apartment, stroll down the old cobblestone streets, linger over coffee at a charming outdoor cafè, check out the stalls of fresh fruit and vegetables fish and meat at the central market or wander around the marina and along the uncontaminated sandy beaches. Alghero can be easily explored on foot but if you do have a car remember: driving in and around Alghero is not a problem, excluded the historic centre or Old Town where driving and parking is permitted to residents only. CCTV cameras are installed and operating 24 hrs. Many streets are for pedestrians only. Parking for non residents is outside the old town perimeter either free or on payment.
Alghero a town of Spanish origins on Italian territory, considered by many to be the most fascinating on the island. The Spanish domination lasted over four hundred years, leaving clear marks in the intriguing Old Town architecture and in the locally spoken dialect. Bound on seaward by great stone bastion walls and guarded to landward by a series of stone towers. Alghero's old churches and small squares are connections in a network of narrow paved and cobbled streets. The town, sublime by day, becomes enchanting while strolling along the old walls at sunset. A bustling town, it offers more than just beautiful white sandy beaches and crystalline waters; tradition combined with modernity and a mild climate make it a fascinating place to visit all year round.
Alghero is surrounded by a magnificent wild explosion of nature sites; the landscapes surprisingly change from the fascinating Mediterranean bush to the high cliffs of Capo Caccia. You can rock climb there or visit the impressive Neptunes Cave, horseride along the desert sand beach of Porto Ferro, take a relaxing walk in the natural reserve of Arca di Noè, enjoy birdwatching or dive in the many hidden underwater caves.
