THE HOUSE IS SET IN ITS OWN PRIVATE GROUNDS and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Location wise , the house is ideally situated for visiting both Brittany and Normandy. Le Mont St Michel is only 15 minutes drive away and is the second most popular tourist attraction in France, after the Tour Eiffel.
This area also has many attractive towns such as the medeival market towns of Combourg (15 mins) and Dol-de-Bretagne which has a saturday market every week in the centre of town and boasts a huge variety of fresh local produce.
We are also lucky enough to have some of the best beach towns and prttiest harbours.St Malo is the nearest ferry port and also has a large fishing indusry, but it is best known for it long, golden sandy beaches and the Remparts which date back centuries and which protect the old part of the town. St Malo host many sailing events in its marina and also has a casino, but many visitors just spend time walking around the old town and looking at the many seafood restaurants for which this area of France is famous.
Cancale is a little way along the coast from St Malo and retains its old world charm. The quaint little harbour is scattered with small sail boats and at the end has a fresh seafood stall, which will sell you on a daily basis the freshest moules and oysters .You can at certain tides see where they collect their moules from, even watch them as they go about thier daily work.The harbour is lined with fantastic seafood restaurants and cafes.The market is evry sunday morning.

Dinard is a fabulous example of a once victorian holiday a hot spot, and it certainly retains this feel as you wonder around the town. the centre is very close to the seafront and again is lined with not only their famous blue and white stripped beach tents, but also with various restaurants and bars from where you can watch the beach goers doing their thing. Some sporting events take place on the beach such as volleyball and five aside french style football.You can reach Dinard by car in 25 minutes or stop off at St malo and teke one of the little boats across the bay to dinard. The beaches around here are really lovely.

If you are looking for a more historical place to visit then nearby to Cadran are the medeival towns of Dinan with its canals and its ruins and its fantastic architecture, some of which looks like its defying gravity. Market day is thursday and very popular.

Combourg is a 15 minute drive and is centred around a huge castle which you can visit.

This area has so much to see and do that you will never be bored.
