Les Fougeres in the hamlet of La Coupaudais, is situated just outside the village of St Hélen in the department of Cotes d'Armor - Northern Brittany. Surrounded by beautiful countryside but also well placed for the local towns and cities, it is ideal for a relaxing holiday as well as being near to lots of interesting places to visit and explore. The medieval town of Dinan and port of Dinan is just 10 minutes drive with lovely cafes, bars and restaurants. The port of St Malo is 15 minute’s away which lies at the mouth of the river Rance. The coastal seaside town of Dinard is approx 20 minute’s drive and has magnificent beaches. Dinard also has an airport with daily flights to and from Stansted and Luton. The city of Rennes is about a 20 min drive, excellent for shopping with designer shops and wonderful restaurants.

The gîte was last used as a residential property in 1936 - and was being used by a local farmer to store his cider barrels and apple press. We tastefully and sympathetically renovated in 2004. Set in two acres of grounds in the peaceful countryside of Cotes d'Amour, Northern Brittany within easy reach of Dinan, St Malo, St Mont Michel & Rennes. Ideal self catering holiday accommodation. The gîte sleeps 5 plus cot, has full central heating throughout and a large open fire place with log burning stove. This property is ideal for holidays all year round. The ground floor has an open plan lounge / diner with a galley style kitchen area. The focal point of the ground floor is the large original fireplace and exposed wooden beams. The lounge area has comfortable sofas and English TV with all freeview channels and a video with a selection of videos, games and books. The dining area has a pine table and six chairs. The kitchen has fitted units with an integrated dual fuel cooker. There is also a fridge with freezer compartment and large selection of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, pot’s pans and serving dishes. There is a patio door which leads to the rear garden and pool. The spacious bathroom has been fitted with a large shower cubicle and a sink. For our smaller guests there is a baby bath. There is a separate toilet next to the bathroom. The first bedroom has a large oak double bed, oak wardrobe and side cabinet. The second bedroom has a single pine bed and a set of pine bunk beds with a pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a pine cot, stairgate and highchair if required.

Local Area Details

Cobac Parc is a day out for the whole family but the kids will especially enjoy it There is so much to do from swimming to mini golf The park includes a boating lake bouncy inflatables and large water slides If this all sounds too much you could just relax or sunbathe in the fabulous grounds Mont St Michel is a small island about 45 minutes away is a must to visit It is celebrated for its Benedictine abbey There are monastic buildings which date from the 13th century and are considered outstanding examples of Gothic architecture ChateauZoo is set in a beautiful wooded area and is open to the public with daily tours There are wonderful gardens which you can walk around and picnic The zoo contains exotic and rare animals from five continents with live shows every day Dinard is known as the city garden by the sea It has a superb seaside location with magnificent beaches You can visit the beautiful gardens where the plants and flowers are from the mediterranean Dinard is not the only lovely beach the coast line is littered with them Dinard also has an 18 hole golf course which apparently has sea views from each hole For those that enjoy a round of golf there are several courses in the area Dinan is one of the finest of all Brittanys towns of architectural interest There are many halftimbered houses and Romanesque and gothic churches It also has an impressive castle which overlooks the river Rance You can walk down to the port along the Rue du Jerzual which is steep and cobbled The port of Dinan is an ideal place to eat al fresco as there are riverside cafes and restaurants to suit all pockets We have only mentioned a few things on this page but there are hundreds of things to do and places to visit Each property has a full information folder
