Local Area DetailsFalmouth is an interesting old town, with narrow streets and alleys to the waterside, that has retained all the charm of the old fishing port. There are excellent shops, including many individual and unique boutiques, fine restaurants and traditional waterside Cornish pubs. Small ferries leave frequently from the quays nearby for sightseeing trips to Flushing, St Mawes and its castle and the famous Helford River with Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek.
As well as the prestigious National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth, there is an arts centre with cinema, bowling alley, leisure centre with fun pool and flume for children and three sandy beaches perfect for entertaining all the family whatever the weather.
