In a quiet country location, this 18th century entirely revovated farmhouse is ideally situated not only for visiting the chateaux in the region (Chambord, Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, Chaumont and more), but also a wonderful place to enjoy in a relaxing bucolic setting commonly referred to as 'the Garden of France'. 300 yards away there is a private lake where one can go fishing, and a short walk down a path brings you to the Prunay forest where you'll find foot paths and cycling trails also to enjoy. Neighboring a farm, this 130 square metre self-catering home is comprised of a livingroom with dining area, one master (queen size bed) and one spare bedroom (two twin beds), a fully equiped kitchen (cooker, dishwasher, microwave), bathroom with separate toilet and laundry room. There is a wood burning fireplace as well as central heating for use during the cooler months of the year. Annexed to the cottage is an antique wooden caravan, remodled into a playhouse with toys and games for younger visitors.
Local Area DetailsThe cottage is located in the Loire Valley within 10 to 40 miles from the best known castles in the Loire area. The most fertile agricultural land this lush rich region is commonly called the garden of France. Centrally located one can not only easily access the grands chateaux but also walk, bike, fish, swim, play tennis, play boules, enjoy sidewalk cafes or simply lounge in the garden. There are numerous international festivals over the summer months primarily the highly successful classical and international folkloric musical exchanges held annually in Montoire (4 miles away). The Chaumont chateau hosts an annual garden festival inviting a dozen reknowned landscape architects to design their indivual area -- an outing which is absolutely not to be missed.
