In 2004 I bought a lovely 16th Century Traditional Spanish stone walled house in a small village in the pre-Pyrenees region of Aragon in Spain. I have fully restored it making a very comfortable and cosy three-storey house that combines medieval charm and 21st century luxury, whilst still conserving many of the original architectural elements and features of traditional Aragon. The house is situated in the hamlet of Murillo de Gallego about 1 hr from Zaragoza, right in the heart of unrivalled Spanish countryside surrounded by wonderful scenery giving you the chance to completely relax and get back in tune with nature whilst living the atmosphere of an authentic Spanish village.

The house (160m2) has 3 bedrooms with wood beam ceilings, teak floors in the main bedroom and Spanish terracotta throughout the kitchen, living area and bathroom. (High chair and crib for small children are available, on request.) The house has three bedrooms - two double bedrooms, and one spacious and open plan bedroom with a hand-made wood framed king size bed, plenty of closet space and in the living area there is a comfortable double sofa-bed. The house can comfortably sleep eight people; it has a very big bathroom, an open plan kitchen/dining and living area with an impressive arch pizza oven that I had sent to me directly from Italy that was built with antique bricks. I’m a good cook and expert of local products and will be happy to provide a dinner service for a small additional fee. If you fancy an Italian evening (I am of Italian origin), then I can prepare for you traditional Italian pizza cooked in the original Italian pizza oven.

There is TV, DVD, surround music system, a variety of CDs to suit all tastes, DVDs and an extremely well stocked international reading library.

There is internet access (extra cost) and if you wish, we can provide you with a lap top computer.

The house has gas central heating installed throughout and ventilators despite the fact that you won’t need them as the house is very fresh during the summer months due to the thickness of the old stone walls.

The house is one of 4 houses in the Calle Medio, of a tiny village (Murillo de Gallego) with just 150 inhabitants immersed and surrounded by spectacular nature and scenery. The people in Murillo are very friendly, welcoming and the village is very safe – children can quite safely play in the main plaza and will surely make friends with the local children. The village frequently organises ´fiestas´ and/or nice meals for everyone living in the neighbourhood – you will be made to feel at home joining in these great evenings. You are almost travelling back in time in our hamlet of Murillo – to village life and values that have long gone lost in this day and age in many parts of the world.

Local Area Details

Although its a small village it certainly isnt isolated . All amenities are very close as the stunning village is not far to Loarre Aragon's most spectacular and best maintained Romanic castle where even the film director Ridley Scott shoot part of his film Kingdom of Heaven. But what is breathtaking are the fantastic pinktinged cylindrical rock formation of los Mallos of Riglos. The pinnacles remain popular with climbers and parapentists while the river swarms with rafter and canoeists from March to September. And if you look up in the sky you can see one of the biggest numbers of vultures flying above your head and if you walk be careful not to flatten any of the most rare orchids of the region .You have the option of natural swimmingpools secluded from the contamination of our world or the village brand new swimmingpool. Upon request there is a sharing private swimming pool that I can arrange for you.
You have very cheap flights to Zaragoza airport which is 1 hr away, Pamplona at 1 hr and 30; Barcelona at 3hr 50; and Santander and Bilbao at 2hr 30 minutes away and there are direct flights with low cost airlines. And dont forget that France is just 1 hour drive from here.

Activities on site and nearby are at hand in a region of great natural beauty ready for adventure. It is a paradise for lovers of rivers, lakes, mountains and aerial sports. It is an uncontaminated area where you can get straight in the heart of an abundant and radiant nature.

Heating charge is not included during winter months.
