Property Details of Alps Chalet

The chalet was originally built around 1876 starting life as a farmhouse and was converted into a small hotel sometime in the early 60’s and then modernized in the early 1980’s to feature 6 family suites - taking on the feel of an alpine chalet.

Each family suite comprises a large room with bunk beds and sofa/sofa-bed, a separate double bedroom plus self contained bathroom and toilet.

For self catering guests the suites are also equipped with a kitchenette, fridge, gas cooker and microwave.

It is superbly positioned close to the town centre but away from traffic and noisy bars.

There is a separate dining room and a TV room/lounge. There is a wide selection of videos (kids and adults), and also loads of toys and books. For those children staying in the chalet during the day there is a crèche well provided with paints, pens, crayons, paper, play doh and loads of other kit to keep them amused, under supervision of course!

This winter there is also a games room with table tennis and music.

In winter, there is a free ski bus which circulates the town making regular trips to the ski lifts. However we find that with young children it's less hassle if we drop you off and pick you up in our minibus - when you have a skis and poles not only for yourself but children too, it's a quite a lot to manhandle onto the bus!

The Resort : Les Carroz d’Arâches
Les Carroz is a pretty little French alpine mountain village, 40 minutes from Geneva on the road to Chamonix. It has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Over recent years it has evolved from a small Savoyarde hamlet to a year-round resort, with particular emphasis on the needs and wants of children, but without losing its character and warmth.
However it’s not just for kids: for grown-ups there are bars aplenty, excellent restaurants, plus many shops and even 2 night-clubs!

In the summer, Les Carroz is staggeringly beautiful. The mountain scenery, the exquisite wild flowers, rushing streams and clear, still air make for a truly wonderful holiday.
Apart from just soaking up the perfect scenery there is also loads to do; for kids and adults alike.
There are pretty walks, bike trails and for the more adventurous, mountain hiking.
There are caves and caverns to explore underground.
The beaches of Lake Geneva and Lake Passy are close by and are perfect for sunbathing, sailing and swimming.
