Property Details of Drenthe Farmhouse

Large well-equipped and furnished Dutch (former) farmhouse dating from 1890 located in centre of peaceful Diever village. Guests have full use of the front house adjoining the owner's property. Having separate entrances, privacy is assured.

The farmhouse comprises 5 bedrooms in total: 1 double, 3 twin, 1 single and 1 cot. This gives room for up to 9 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use. The farm house has 1 bathroom and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm. Entertainment: the farm house has cable television, video and DVD. The music system will play cassettes, cds and has a radio. Eating & living room: there is room for 9 in the living room and 9 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, 2 fridges, a freezer, a kettle and toaster. You will also find a dishwasher, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. Cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils are also provided. Please note that this is a non-smoking farmhouse.

Welcome pack provided on arrival containing: bread/butter/milk/jam/cheese/eggs/sugar/coffee/tea/orange juice and breakfast cereal

Local Area Details

Diever, Drenthe and the surrounding area: Diever village, located at the southwesterly tip of the province of Drenthe (approx 2 hrs east of Amsterdam) is adjacent to the largest forest in the Netherlands - perfect for walking cycling and horse riding. Also renowned for its Shakespearian plays held in the open air theatre during the Summer months, Diever is at the heart of unspoilt rural Dutch countryside. Among many near attractions, Emmen Zoo, Gnomeland, Giethoorn (the Venice of the Netherlands) and the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) and the city of Groningen (40 minutes) are easily accessible. During July/August you can take one of the 3 forest buses which wind their way 6 days a week through 14 of the small local villages. A Dutch National Tourist office is also nearby with a wealth of information on the surrounding area.

Location of Diever:

Diever is easily accessible fron both Amsterdam Schiphol (2 hours) and Groningen Eelde (30 minutes) airports. A car is recommended (rental cars also available at both airports) although public transport (bus) just a few minutes walk away, with links to the surrounding villages and towns. Nearest train station at Beilen (20 minutes away) with direct services to Groningen (30 minutes) and Amsterdam Airport (2 hours).
