Local Area Details

This area of France, often referred to as the "French Tuscany", is famous for it's gourmet food. Foie gras is the local delicacy. The Gers, being one of the richest agricultural areas of France has many fruit orchards and vineyards which produce excellent wines, not to mention it's famous Armagnac. The town itself has a good range of resturants and shops. The traditional french street market takes place every Friday. Festivals and street parties are held throughout the year. The tourist office, next to the Cathedral is an excellent source of information about Gascony.
