Property Details of Bavaria Bed and Breakfast

Our bed & breakfast guest house is located in a relaxed and quiet area above the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein (724m), on the lower slopes of Grosser Arber (1456m). Gästehaus am Berg is within easy walking distance of the village centre, with all its amenities, the German/Czech border and only 5 minutes drive to the ski lifts & ski schools. Walking, cycling and cross-country ski trails start within 100 metres of the guesthouse
The Guesthouse has 13 bedrooms. All of which have en-suite shower rooms, hand-basins and toilets. Most rooms have balconies & lovely views. Each room has German satellite TV (including Sky News, in English and Eurosport), hairdryer, tea & coffee-making facilities & a file of local information, places to visit, restaurants, etc. (in both English & German). There are 2 single rooms, 8 double rooms and 3 three-bedded (1 double and 1 single bed) rooms. A cot is available at no extra cost.
There is a large breakfast room / lounge which has a lovely open fireplace (lit every evening during the winter season), leather sofas and a small library of English & German fiction, games, puzzles, guide books and maps for use by guests.
A high-chair is available if required. In the garden there is a small children’s play area for the use of our younger guests.
The extensice buffet breakfast is typically German in style, with a choice of breads and fresh rolls, butter, jams, cooked meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices, tea

The Bavarian Forest is part of the largest wooded area in Europe An area of outstanding natural beauty situated in the South East corner of Germany bordered by the River Danube Austria and the Czech Republic It is a great spot for exploring all three countries whilst enjoying the wonderful scenery of the Bayerischer Wald National Park and the Grosser Arber mountain area The area has numerous walking and cycling trails and in winter is an excellent place to ski with both downhill and crosscountry skiing well catered for The area is reknowned for its glassmaking natural beauty many festivals and schnapps A potent brew the local version Brwrz is made from a root that grows only on Grosser Arber The historic cities of Prague Munich Salzburg Regensburg Passau and Nuremberg are all less than three hours away Making them all accessible as day trips from the guesthouse The English owners are always happy to advise visitors of the wide range of things to do and see

About Skiing

Grosser Arber is only 7 km away. It has ski schools, black, red and blue runs, ski hire, snowboard railpark, childrens fun park, lifts, chairs and pulls, as well as the all importnat apre-ski. Or why not try the Czech ski resort of Spicak, just 10 minutes over the border.
