Thought removed from the ever-increasing number of tourists and benefiting from a friendly, caring community, it is just a 7 minute drive to Jolly Harbour, with its first-class shopping, a bank, supermarket, casino, golf course, bars and restaurants and impressive marina. St. John's town is 20 minutes drive which has fruit and vegetable markets, fresh fish and meat markets, and excellent shopping facilities, along with a variety of most charismatic restaurants, Antiguan and International. Within easy walking distance is Turner's Beach Bar & Restaurant, OJ's with live music twice weekly, 3 Martinis and Gibson's Restaurant's excellent cuisine in Crabbe Hill. Darkwood Beach Bar and Restaurant is a few minutes drive and rates among one of the best five beaches in the world. Next to Darkwood is Ffreyes Beach, mostly quiet with Dennis' Bar & Restaurant serving local cuisine.
