Situated above the Moorish church at the top of the village this extremely spacious, split level 2 bedroomed house enjoys spectacular views of the almost perpetually snow-capped Sierra Nevada and the village itself.
The private entrance gate leads to a secluded walled garden with vine shaded dining area, relaxation pool and sunbathing terrace.
Within the house are 2 double bedrooms, large kitchen/diner, shower room and spacious living area which leads onto the first floor terrace with barbeque which doubles as an open fire. One end of the terrace is covered, providing shade during the intense heat of July and August but can also be enclosed to provide an outside area for cooler spring and autumn evenings. All rooms are equipped with fans and there are two woodburning stoves to provide warmth during winter evenings. The traditional style of architecture with shuttered windows ensures the house remains cool in summer and cosy in winter.
The kitchen is fully equipped with 5 ring gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and double sink. There is ample crockery, glasswear, cutlery etc. A large dining table provides seating for up to 8 people in comfort.
The living room with its stripped wooden beams is situated on the first floor with two French windows leading onto the terrace. A selection of games and books are provided together with a music system and TV. There is wireless internet throughout the house should you wish to bring your laptop.
Both bedrooms have double beds and plenty of storage space. French windows lead from the lower bedroom into the garden whilst the upstairs bedroom has French windows with a view of the picturesque back street.
All bedding and towels are included in the price and a cot and high chair can be provided upon request.
Parking is available 30 meters from the house but a car can be brought to within a few meters of the gate for loading and unloading.
Please be aware that the village streets are steep making this property unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility.
Local Area DetailsThe picturesque village of Torvizcon nestles at the foot of Las Alpujarras An unspoilt traditional Spanish farming village where you are as likely to meet a mule as a motor car Situated one hour from Granada and 45 minutes from the coast culture countryside beaches and skiing are all within easy reach With a population of just under 1000 the village has 4 bars plus a hotel and pension both of which serve meals There are also 3 small supermarkets bakery butchers fishmongers and a weekly vegetable stall enabling you to do all your shopping without leaving the village The traveling market visits on the 1st and 16th of every month with a selection of clothing plants nuts olives etc For a wider range of shops and a bustling Thursday market the town of Orgiva is just 20 kilometers away The village pool is open during the months of July and August and there are numerous fiestas throughout the year the largest of these being the St Antonio Abad fiesta of fire in January You are surrounded by magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada and Contraviersa mountain ranges with walking up the Torvizcon Rambla and along the Rio Guadalfeo on your doorstep For the more adventurous Mulhacen is close at hand Popular with Spanish tourists but as yet relatively undiscovered by other nationalities Torvizcon is an extremely friendly pueblo blanco and an ideal place to observe and enjoy the traditional Spanish way of life
