In the late 18th century, somewhere in Scotland, Tom Jackson's great, great, great-grandfather and his best friend married sisters in a double ceremony. For their wedding trip, the newlyweds boarded a ship to America. Before they reached American shores, a hurricane caused the women to vow that if they ever reached dry land, they would never sail again. When the boat reached the Caolina coast, they took up land and stayed.
Since then, Jackson Farms has stayed in the family.
Jackson Farm Guesthouse overlooks a 3 acre pond where guests are encourged to explore in provided boat. We offer people the farming experience first hand. Seasonal food and seasonal sustainable agricultural takes folks back to more quiet, reflective times.
Our 300 acre farm is both a working farm and a wildlife sanctuary. Open fields, wooded trails, ponds, swamps and branches give people listening space for nature's quiet sounds. The large screened porch with its'outside shower gives a warm weather comfort zone perfect for reading, birding, or sleeping in our Mayan hammock.
This totally "green" house has a refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer, central heat and ac with a central fireplace. 10 acres of wooded trails surround the house.
We cater supper; proudly offering local,seasonal meals for an additional cost of $8.00 per person.

Local Area DetailsA pottery sits right in the middle of the farm. Our guests can walk down a sandy lane, cross over the water damn to purchase pottery and visit studios.
Particpate in homesteading activities constantly in progress.
The Atlantic ocean is a pleasant hour drive, world class golf course within 50 miles, Civil war sites all around us, Southern cuisine country style nearby and the Universites of Chapel Hill, Duke, Wake Forest and State are within 60 miles of the Guesthouse. Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg, and it's many military museums; only a 20 minute drive from the farm.
Organic produce is available in the summer, organic pears in the fall, old timey Christmas decoration materials in the winter and migratory birds in late spring add to our 80 resident species birdlist.

DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS:
A returnable $100.00 deposit required to protect against cottage damage. Accepted payment include traveler's check, personal check, or cash.
Jackson Farm supplies linens, towels, blankets, pillows, firewood, coffee,table ware, cutlery,and breakfast.
Most guests want an uninterrupted stay. the house has no phpone, TV or radio. If you wish to stay available to the outside world, bring your own cell-phone.
ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Guests are asked to come to the jackson Farm homeplace where keys and farm map will be provided. Instructions will accompany your receipt.
