This charming traditional cottage has outstanding views of the Loire river and within easy reach of historic Saumur. Bordering a road next to this majestic river and nestled in a small village in the UNESCO World Heritage site the cottage is a haven for guests.
The cottage is furnished in a mix of antiques and traditional French furniture, yet has all the comforts of home. The thick walls keep the property cool in summer and warm in winter. There is also the advantage of central heating for the cooler months of winter and early spring. A log burning fire keeps the house cosy during winter months.
The two large double bedrooms are comfortably furnished with traditional furniture and antiques. A cot is available on request.
Original beams have been retained throughout the property adding to the quaintness of this quite lovely cottage.
Step through the rear door and discover a shaded private garden filled with flowers and with table, chairs and barbecue. In the height of summer this is the perfect spot for enjoying a cool glass of local wine and in the evening to savour a long alfresco meal.
The front of the house has a magnificent garden filled with fruit trees and vegetables, guests are invited to sample any of the fruits and vegetables
Just a short walk takes you to one of two boloungery in the village, where you can buy bread and croissants baked freshly throughout the day. The village also boasts a bar/restaurant serving meals both at lunch time and evening.

Being in the heart of the historic parc national the cottage is close to many sites of historic interest from Gallio Roman through to the magnificent and romantic chateau for which this area is justly famous The Loire Valley wine route is on the doorstep and guests are able to visit many of the local wineries to sample and buy produce directly from the producer History culture good wine and fabulous food can all be found in this glorious area The local people are remarkably friendly and you will be greeted courteously wherever you go There is something for people of all ages FUTURSCOPE which appeals to children age 2 to 100 years old Quite wonderful conservation zoos rose gardens river trips horse riding golf and much more which is why visitors to this region return year after year finding something new on each visit There is an open air swimming pool in Saumur and Gennes as well as canoeing and lots of other sports Saumur is the home of the world famous Cadre Noir riding school where horse and rider thrill visitors with their truly outstanding horsemanship a visit here is a must for anyone with even a passing interest in horses The Tank Museum have wonderful displays of tanks armoured vehicles and even a room dedicated to the Resistance movement
