The cottages are comfortable and well-equipped, including TV with freeview channels, DVD player, CD player and radio. Bedlinen and towels are provided. Guest-controlled electric heating. The cottages are located in a large garden overlooking the River Stour and Sturminster Newton Mill, and are within easy walking distance to shops and pubs. There is off-road parking. Pets are welcome.

The cottages are ideally located for visiting historic houses and gardens, ancient monuments and hillforts, market towns, the Jurassic Coast with its lovely golden beaches and fascinating geology. There are literary links all over the place as this is the heart of Thomas Hardy's Wessex. Local activities include golf, fishing, walking and cycling. There are lots of adventure and animal parks for children. Nearby towns include Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum, Sherborne, and Dorchester.
