New barn conversion all on the ground floor United Kingdom
Apartment in England, United Kingdom
Property Details of England Apartment
The Milking Parlour is a new barn conversion completed in the summer of 2005. It is gloriously located in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park with wonderful views, but is not remote being less than just half a mile to the nearest Village and Pub. There are three cycle/footpath trails within 3m. Footpaths/bridleways surround the owners land which has two wild flower meadows bordering a nature reserve leading to River Dove.
It is on the ground floor, - upstairs is another letting unit but guests should have no need to worry about noise transmission, as the onwers have comfortably exceeded what are in any event very strict building control noise transmission requirements.) The Milking Parlour has two bedrooms, one double and one single, a decent sized shower room/wet room, which are both en-suite to both bedrooms - i.e. two doors into the shower room. The living area is extremely comfortable and and has as a focal point a sympathetic log effect stove (not the old fashioned type that were less sympathetic) Absolute miaxmimum points under a four star grading: includes dishwasher, stone worktops, central heating, freeview sky satellite tv, stone sinks, solid wood kitchen units, halogen cookers, leather settees, tv, videos and dvds; and much more.
One of five cottages at this location. Adjacent to the Milking Parlour is a large grassed area shared with the other cottages.
In the apartment there are seven(!) highly organised information folders, partly written by the owners themselves who are lovers of the Peak. Guests in the owners other cottages have heaped praise on this source of information which ensure that even those who have stayed with us numerous times still find plenty new to do. Events lists are supplied in advance between May and September. Housekeeping and attention to detail is regarded by the owners, who strive to encourage return visits, as being of paramount importance as is their concern is to ensure guests have an excellent holiday.
There are two wild flowers meadows on our land, one of which borders a nature reserve leading after just over a mile to the Rive Dove (at Wolfscote Dale). One mile downstream is Dovedale. The cottages are located off a quiet country lane between the highly popular village of Hartington and its smaller, quieter neighbour, Biggin. Both villages have pubs serving full meals cafes and a church. There is also an excellent restaurants about a mile away. Biggin has a lovely Hall where excellent cream teas are sold.
Local Area DetailsNumerous footpaths surround the land on which the Milking Parlourand the other cottages stand offering unrivalled walking in the best part of the White Peak The highly popular Tissington Trail which runs for 17 miles is used by walkers cyclists and horse riders and is less than 1 mile from us Two further trails both of similar distance are within 3 miles These three tracks are ideal for family cycling as is the network of quiet minor roads which can be accessed at numerous points along the trails Buxton Matlock Bakewell Ashbourne Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass confirming the owners claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District The White Peak is the area of rolling countryside dales streams and rivers limestone villages and drystone walls which give the area so much character
