Villa Keyif (turkish for peace & tranquility)is situated on the beautiful, private estate of Arsipel, close to the village of Gumusluk, famous for its ancient underwater ruins and the many fresh fish restaurants lining the picturesque harbour front. The villa, one of 13 has a most enviable position overlooking the superb shared swimming pool with magnificient sea views in the distance.

The Villa is surrounded by mature and well-maintained gardens and in the summer there is a wealth of flowering shrubs & colour. It has a spacious terrace on the ground floor that is comfortably furnished with a cane 3-seater sofa, two big armchairs & coffee table

There is also a large glass-topped table with 6 dining armchairs and a bbq for alfresco dining - whether it be breakfast, dinner or supper - it is a wonderful place to sit and relax!

The ground floor of the villa is very spacious. It has an open-plan design and has the benefit of air-conditioning. It is comfortably furnished and has all you require for a wonderful holiday.

There is a large sitting room furnished in a comfortable, homely style with two 3-seater sofas, a coffee table, large chest, hotbird satellite tv, dvd player, cd/cassette/radio player.

The sitting room opens into the dining area which has a dining table, 6 chairs, a large sideboard and an attractive fireplace with turkish cushions, leading into a well-equipped kitchen, including a large capacity fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric/gas hob and oven. There is a utility room with a washing machine, ironing facilities, large basin & w.c.

A marble staircase takes you to a galleried landing with an attractive bodrum stonewall. There are 3 bedrooms - the Master bedroom, with kingsize bed has air conditioning, an en-suite fully tiled shower room, and a door leading to the upstairs terrace - from here there are beautiful sea views & in the evening you can watch the glorious sunsets that this part of the Peninsula is renowned for.

Bedrooms 2 & 3 both have twin beds, with fans - one room has access to the upstairs terrace. All rooms are tastefully furnished with wardrobes and chests of drawers giving plenty of storage space and all share a beautiful pool & sea view.

Mosquito nets are fitted to some of the windows in all rooms to enable the windows to be opened to provide ventilation

There is a large fully-tiled family bathroom with a bath with shower enclosure, basin

Local Area Details

Villa Keyif is situated :

5 minute walk to a local shop providing basic essentials.

5 minute walk to the sea (natural sea shore where the locals swim).

5 minute drive to Gumusluk Harbour (known as the ancient city of Myndos)
famous for it's great selection of restaurants (especially fresh fish) and the ancient ruins which lie beneath the sea (good spot for snorkelling!)
You can wade through the water across to Rabbit Island to see the rabbits which live there and admire the spectacular views when you climb to the top of the Island.

There is a beach here with sunshades & sunbeds where the nearby cafes will serve you with snacks, drinks, etc whilst you lay in the sun.


A 10 minute drive takes you to Kadikalesi - there is larger sandy beach with watersport facilities, restaurants, cafes, etc.

The nearby town of Turgutreis (15 mins drive) is a large town with a huge variety of shops, two supermarkets and all necessary facilities including Banks, a Post Office, Pharmacies, etc. There is a big weekly market selling everything you can imagine.

It has a popular beach area offering jet skiing, banana boating, donutting, windsurfing, etc. A big new Marina has recently been built incorporating pedestrianised walkways with designer shops offering quality clothing and goods. You will usually see some amazing boats and catamarans moored in the marina.

There is a good selection of restaurants & cafes that line the beachfront and marina offering all types of varieties of cuisine. You can sunbathe on the beach and be served with snacks, drinks & ice creams.

A 10 minute drive in the other direction from the Villa takes you to the popular smaller town of Yalikavak where restaurants and cafes line the pretty harbour front. There is a nice beach area and the small town has all kinds of shops, a couple of banks, a post office, pharmacies, etc.

Bodrum (25 minute drive) is a bustling town with a huge choice of restaurants, cafes and shops. There is the old town which is interesting to explore and the new town which has a cosmopolitan feel and offers something for all age groups.

The history of Bodrum, known as Halicarnassus, goes back to the 13th century BC. Excavations reveal the 5000 year old history of this town. Many of the artefacts that have been found are housed in the spectacular Castle, which is well worth a visit.

The Marina and harbour front is full of all kinds of boats - gulets, catamarans and smaller sailing ships.

A daily ferry service runs from Bodrum to Datca and Kos - this makes a pleasant day out.

Near to Bodrum there is an aquapark and a wonderful Hamam (Turkish Bath) called the Rayola Hamam where you can be throughly pampered and scrubbed clean!

Sailing is very popular on the Peninsula. It is possible to charter your own boat or go out on a communal boat trip which are great fun.

You can book a trip in any of the nearby towns/harbours at a very reasonable price. There are always plenty of people eager to take you out!

Near to Bodrum there is an aquapark and a wonderful Hamam (Turkish Bath) called the Rayola Hamam where you can be throughly pampered and scrubbed clean!

Day trips to places of interest include:

Dalyan - Beatuiful scenery and lakes.
Ephesus - Ancient Roman City.
Pamukkale - Hot spas and sulphur flats - to name but a few.

The villa makes a great holiday base as there are many small coastal villages and towns that are easily accessible from this point on the Bodrum Peninsular.

We do suggest hiring a car - but if people would prefer not to, then there is a dolmus service (little blue minibus) which is very efficient and passes the villa every 10 minutes and is a great way of travelling around with the locals.
