Beautiful restored farmhouse situated at the foothills of the Monferrato Hills. Rural setting, ideal for exploring the `real Italy’, with its historic hill top towns, fine wines such as Dolcetto D’Asti, Barbera del Monferrato, Asti , Grignolino and of course, Italy’s heavyweight, Barolo. A gastronomic delight awaits you in the many restaurants nearby(some Michelin listed). The Baroque City of Turin, hosts of the 2006 Winter Olympics is just 45 mins away with Milan, the Lakes, the Mountains and the Ligurian Coast all within easy reach for that perfect day out.

HOUSE DESCRIPTION

This charming farmhouse stands in its own grounds with a small orchard and landscaped gardens including a rose garden. It is surrounded by open fields and verdant greenery. A nearby road takes you in 15 minutes to the motorway junction to Milan, Turin, popular ski resorts, the Lakes and the Ligurian coast. The house has been restored in keeping with traditional values with brick vaulted ceilings throughout apart from two of the rooms, open log fire and terracotta floor tiling throughout.

worktops. Fridge Freezer, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffeemaker and charming traditional wood burning stove.

The dining area seats six. The lounge is tastefully decorated with open log fireplace, satellite TV (English) and DVD player.

Study

Small study with desk for writing those all important post cards, CD player, books and board games


Outdoor Lavanderia

Houses washing machine, laundry baskets, driers, iron and ironing board


Storage Room

Small storage room for suitcases, extra baggage golf clubs etc.

Local Area Details

Verrua Savoia is a quiet rural town which sits between two other small towns. Local facilites include essentials such as banks, post offices supermarkets,cafes, bars etc. The nearby hills of Monferrato, famous for its wines, offer many opportunities for wine tasting along the wine routes with beautiful scenery along the way. The beautiful castle in the town of Barolo, offers guided tours in english after which it is possible to indulge in some wine tasting of this wonderful, most important wine from Italy, in the enotica which is found in the cellar beneath the castle. Nearby is the delightful little town of Cocconato which occupies a panoramic postion atop one of Monferatto's hightest hills with breathtaking views from of the surrounding area
