Property Details
Our beautiful Edinburgh Holiday Apartment is situated in Upper Coltbridge, Murrayfield, a prestigious address just 15 minutes' walk from the City centre. This double upper Victorian flat retains original features such as marble fireplaces and cornices, with the usual nooks and crannies which give such buildings character! The flat has lovely panoramic views of Edinburgh to the hills beyond.
Upper Coltbridge has 4 bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 8 people, including children: 1 room with double bed; 1 room with single bed; 1 room with kingsize bed; 1 room with 2 single beds. There is also a blow-up bed and a cot. All the beds are made up for your arrival, and you will find the flat sparkling clean!
There are 3 reception rooms in this large family flat: a large and comfortable lounge with comfy sofas and large 32" TV with Freeview and DVD player; an airy dining room with a table and leather chairs to seat 8 people; and a well-equipped kitchen with the usual mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, fridge freezer etc) and a pretty window seat to enjoy a glass of wine while you cook! There is also a bathroom with bath and shower over it.
Outside the flat, you will find free parking on the street, and a handy garden bench, where you can sit with a cuppa while you watch the world go by! The flat is located in a cul de sac on a quiet residential street in upmarket Murrayfield. There are only about 10 households on this street, where you will find professional families and retired couples living here. Everyone looks out for one another, and people are very friendly!
The flat is suitable for families, or friends who wish to enjoy Edinburgh City with all its local attractions and those further afield. It is only a 10-minute walk from Haymarket Train Station, and the airport bus drops you off at the bus stop just 2 minutes' walk from the flat after a 20-minute ride. All the buses that stop at that bus stop also go to town, taking about 5 minutes. If you are stopping at Waverley Market, then a taxi or bus ride of 5 minutes will take you to us.
Upper Coltbridge in Murrayfield, Edinburgh is also great for those wishing to enjoy the facilities at Murrayfield Stadium, which is about 5 minutes' walk from us. Murrayfield is famous for its rugby matches and some high profile concerts. If you want to wander along the Water of Leith, the Water of Leith Walk is just behind the flat, and locals use it to walk from place to place, or jog or cycle for exercise!
Our lovely flat was only refurbished and furnished with all new furniture in August this year. It would suit people who enjoy nice surroundings and want a place close to the city but also wish to be out of range of the city's noise and traffic so as to get a restful night's sleep. The area around the flat is very quiet, and so it would not suit noisy parties. It is also a non-smoking flat.
We put a lovely welcome pack into the flat for all new arrivals, and essential items are also placed in the flat to start our guests off with. Just two minutes' walk you will also find shops, a cafe and pub if you need to pick something up, so it is very convenient for holiday makers.
There are lots of pictures and further details about the flat on our own website which is www.edinburghholidayapartment.co.uk
