Local Area Details

ESURI GOLF
Esuri boasts two golf courses. The western course is a long links style course over 7300 yards, 72 par with very wide fairways excellent greens and spectacular views to Portugal and the Guadiana River as well as the surrounding marshland. It is suitable for the amateur player, yet still provides a challenge for the more experienced golfer. The course has a modern clubhouse, with a patio overlooking the driving range and is an ideal place to relax, have a drink and a meal. The clubhouse also has sky television where special sporting events can be watched on request.

The eastern course is also a long course over 6900 yards in length. The fairways have been designed to utilise the natural terrain that slopes towards the salt marshes of the Guadiana River providing excellent views of the sea and the town of Ayamonte. This championship course is more challenging than the western one.

DINING OUT
The streets of Ayamonte are lined with a number of cafes, bars and restaurants, serving local cuisine including tapas and seafood.

CASINO
Situated just over the border in Portugal, Monte Gordo has a glittering casino which opened in 1996 featuring a modern gaming room more than 200 slot machines and a nightly floorshow.

For nature lovers, the Parque Nacional de Donana is a must. It is an important wetland reserve for migrating birds on the bank of the Guadalquivir river, at its estuary on the Atlantic Ocean. The reserve is very diverse, consisting of lagoons, marshlands, dunes and scrub woodland. It is home to a number of threatened bird species. A large part of the park is off limits to visitors as the environment is of utmost importance, however a limited number of visitors daily are treated to an unforgettable experience, taken on excursions in fourwheeldrive buses through the park.
