Four cottages built from a traditional Breton Long貥 are in the hamlet of Kerherv鬠situated in pleasant peaceful countryside of northern Brittany. Hortensia cottage has three bedrooms (1 double, 1 single and 1 twin room). Lavender cottage has four bedrooms (1 double, two singles,one twin). Greanium cottage has two bedrooms (one double,one twin). Primrose cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles, one twin). All of the cottages have their own heating system for the colder months. All cottages have use of the onsite private swimming pool. The front looks South over open countryside, only five minutes drive from the village of Pommerit Le Vicomte. Pommerit is a busy little village with a small supermarket, 3 bars/newsagents, patisserie, pharmacy and a medical centre.
Trout and salmon fishing on two of the finest picturesque rivers in France. Lake fishing within an easy drive. Russell himself is a keen fisherman and can organize a fishing permit (carte de peche), advise on good locations and where to go for other species such as carp, pike and match fishing. There are local markets every day, even in the smaller towns. If you like seafood - look no further than the Cotes D'Armor.
Why not take a steam train trip along the River Trieux and visit our local chateau. On the way home stop in the magic woods and have crepes and local cider.
The historic town of Guingamp is the nearest large town (10 minutes by car) and contains all the leading hyper markets and in the medieval centre an excellent range of shops, superb restaurants and bars, a good day out.

Local Area Details

Pontrieux is a short journey away, it is the head of navigation up the river Trieux, from here you can hire a canoe or kayak, walk along the riverbank, and view the wildlife and scenery and the Yachts in the marina. Nearby to the marina you can catch a steamtrain to Paimpol, this travels along the river valley through some impressive countryside.The town of Paimpol with its marina, fishing port, wealth of narrow streets and old buildings is only 20 minutes away from your holiday home.
There are many other smaller less patronized beaches and coves, also the Plage Bonaparte which is favored by families and is of recent historical interest. This area of Brittany has excellent facilities for all types of holidays, there are a number of local golf courses open to the public, at Plouha excellent riding stables, water sports of all kinds on glorious beaches, walking and cycling are favorites in the picturesque lanes with hardly any traffic even in the summer.Begard Amori Park is another local attraction, a great day out with indoor and outdoor pools, water shoots and slides, crazy golf and cafe facilities.Close by is the Ile de Br騡t, a 10 minute boat ride, with a frequent service in the summer, beaches, walks and views, visit the 17th Century tidal mill and the glass works in the old fort.A short drive away is the Pink Granite Coast, ( C?de Granit Rose) on the north coast, the views are particularly good with the setting sun showing off the pink glistening granite, it also has many good beaches and trips around the coast and to the "Sept Iles" seven islands off the coast where you can visit the largest with its' lighthouse, and view the masses of seabirds on the others.There is a wealth of fishing ports which daily catch fresh seafood, the 'fruits de mer" is a must if you like seafood for which Brittany is renowned.
