This is 32 Room hotel and all rooms are twin / double with some triple bedded rooms and space for a cot with private shower and W.C.. There is a 24 hour reception with safe deposit boxes. Large swimming pool which is heated in May & September. The hotel has two bars one small inside bar used mainly in the cooler months and a vibrant outside pool bar with plenty of comfortable table & seating (NOT plastic patio furniture). There is a snooker table and most nights there is some sort of entertainment ranging from quiz nights to pool competitions to themed nights. Birthdays and Anniversarys catered for with 24 hours notice. There is also a lovely garden complete with a few swings and play area for the kiddies. All rooms have colour t.v., tea & coffee making facilities, full size fridge to store your own beer & wine!! Air conditioning / central heating and daily maid service. Being family run this is an extremely friendly hotel with many guests returning year after year.

Local Area Details

The resort is renowned for its extremely long & wide sandy beach which shelve gently into the Aegean so are perfectly safe for children and non swimmers. There are many surrounding sights including the 4th Century Temple of Apollo about 4km away at Didyma; The ruins of Ephesus are also easily reached by taxi or bus or you could take the ferry across to Bodrum to see the castle or relax by the harbour. Eating out There are various local restaurants specialise in Turkish cuisine, but one of the best is Didim Sehir Lokantasi, in nearby Yenihisar, where you can try out delicious Iskender kebabs, meze, köfte and dolma. For a wide choice of Turkish, British and international dishes, try Summer Garden on Yali Caddesi. The Crystal Restaurant overlooking the seafront has an extensive menu and is reasonably priced, and the Golden Dragon nearby offers a good range of Chinese and Indian food. Gino’s Pizza on Atatürk Caddesi serves made-to-order pizzas and a selection of British and Turkish dishes. one of the most popular and famous restaurants in Altinkum is the Istanbul Restuarant, very good value and very friendly staff who will gladly pick you up and return you to the hotel. When you finally tear yourself away from the sea, Altinkum’s shops offer an interesting range of value-for-money goods and souvenirs. Well worth looking out for are leather bags and jackets, designer clothes, Turkish carpets, onyx vases, ornaments and keyrings and gold jewellery in unusual designs. Not forgetting the weekly market in neighbouring Yenihisar, which sells everything from spices to clothes and gives you the opportunity to haggle and have some fun. The resort has a laid-back atmosphere in the evenings, but if you want some action, head for Yali Caddesi by the harbour. At the Roof Top Bar you can relax on comfortable floor cushions while you listen to the latest chart hits. Galaxy Bar next door is a busy disco bar with a lively atmosphere, and if you fancy dancing, live rock and singing (both Turkish and English) visit Ali Bar. Garden Bar is another venue with a dance floor and Turkish and English music. For a lighthearted evening full of laughs, try Didim Karaoke Bar. Not far away, Flamingo’s is a popular night club with a good atmosphere and in the middle of town you will find Medusa, an open air club overlooking the sea. For something really special, catch the late night ferry to Bodrum and let yourself go at Halikarnas, the largest open air club in Europe
