Property Details of Tuscany Cottage

Our 17th-century stonehouse is located amidst peaceful hills in a 15-hectares private property, consisting of oak woods, olive trees and meadows, run through by walking trails. The guest apartment is on the ground floor of the house, and features a master bedroom, a living room with a twin sofa-bed, dining room, kitchen (with oven, fridge and washing-machine), and bathroom with shower. Sleeps a maximum of 4 people. The rooms, which in ancient times were animal stables, have been beautifully restaured in respect of the ancient architectural characteristics and materials, preserving many original details, such as the old manger in the bedroom. Antique bricktile-floors and wooden ceilings create a warm atmosphere where guests can easily rest. The furniture is comfortable with old peasant pieces and some antique and oriental pieces.
A wide stone terrace (furnished with tables, chairs, deck-chairs and sun-umbrella) offers a wide view facing the surrounding hills, and provides an ideal setting for sun-bathing, eating, or just relaxing!
Self-catering; linens, towels, and cookingware are provided. Independent central heating. Children-friendly and pet-friendly. Smoking allowed only outside the house. The access to the house is through a 900-meter driving lane among the woods. There is a parking area. English-speaking owners.

The countryhouse is located in Tuscany and near Umbria, in the heart of the Italian countryside, between Cortona (19 Km), Città di Castello (25 Km), and the Trasimeno lake (33 Km). Peace and quiet are guaranteed; the location is ideal for taking time to rest, as well as going around visiting ancient Renaissance art cities: history and art-lovers will enjoy Cortona or Città di Castello, a half-an-hour drive away; Perugia, Siena, Arezzo, Gubbio and Sansepolcro (birthplace of Piero della Francesca) are about forty-five minutes away.
The nearest village is at 4 Km and offers a drugstore, a pizzeria, two restaurants, two bars, a swimmingpool, and a post office. Horse riding facility is at 6 Km, and restaurants, shops and supermarkets at 10 Km.

Cortona (19 km from property): the nearest town, with a small medieval center where one can shop in small markets, relax drinking cappuccino in the sun, as well as tasting the local food and exceptionally good wines from this region. In August some Opera shows are played in the main square. Perugia (60 km from property): beautiful medieval town on hill-top; offers many shopping attractions as well as famous international events: "Umbriajazz" jazz music festival in July, "Eurochocolate" chocolate-fair in October, and much more. Has an international airport with connections to London Stansted, Milan, Rome. Well connected by railway and coach bus to Rome and other towns. Lake Trasimeno (30 km from property): fascinating lake, on its banks it's possible to eat fish dishes and enjoy romantic sunsets. Arezzo (40 km from property): small ancient town, wonderful for shopping amidst small Medieval streets. In July it hosts the international music festival of "Arezzowave". Siena (60 km from property): beautiful ancient city, known for its huge Medieval square and the Palio, a famous horse race around the square that is held in mid-August. Assisi (70 km from property): this world heritage town, birthplace of St. Francis and famous for Giotto's frescos in the main church, is a world-known site for religious and touristic pilgrimage. Firenze/Florence: (120 km from property): The most representative Renaissance town of central Italy, full of Medieval churches, buildings and museums - a true paradise for art-lovers!
