The Lärchehus is situated in a quiet residential area of the village. The local baker is only 200 metres away for fresh morning bread and rolls, and there are three small supermarkets to hand too. There is a variety of restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the local traditional Swiss pub, which serves hearty local food, is only 200m away. For transport, the main railway station is a 10 minute walk and the bus stop is one minute round the corner. The chairlift to the Oeschinensee is an 800m walk.

There are lots of things to do in any season. In winter, downhill and crosscountry skiing, walks on cleared trails, snow-shoeing, ice-climbing and tobogganing In summer, walking in the hills and the valley, an outdoor swimming pool, and several spa hotels. All year round,you can enjoy the views using cablecars, go ice-skating or curling, enjoy good food - and all in outstanding scenery. Kandersteg is a quiet village with very friendly people. Also in the area are Interlaken, the Schilthorn (Piz Gloria of James Bond fame in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"), Lake Thun, Bern, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Jungfrau Region.
