From the grassy hillock in front of the terrace you get a wonderfull 360 degrees panoramic view.
It provides an excellent base to explore North Wales and to pursue many different adventure activities found in the region.
The cottage has been improved over the years, but retaining many of the original features. As such, though modern basic appliances and facilities are provided, you can still get a sense of what it must have been like for the slate miners to have lived here in the mid 1800s.
Above all the, the cottage represents very good value for money. Rather than paying for expensive facilities more than you need and that you might not use; for this reason we do not provide a TV. Here you will have good modest facilities giving you all the basic neccessities.
Local Area DetailsMany adventure activities can be found in North Wales including the following:- whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, tree walking.
There are the famous Llechwedd Slate Caverns nearby as well as the light guage railway from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog. Tanygrisiau Station is just a few hundred metres away. Also the small hydroelectric power station can be visited.
Many other activities are reached by a short drive by car.
Locally you can walk in the mountains and see the disused slate quarries. There is a local rock climb where you will often see climbers.
The cottage is nestled on the lower slopes of the Mowelwyn Mountains, hence the wonderfull views
