Rock Cottage stands alone in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the shores of the Helford River. With over two thirds of an acre of garden and private jetty it is a perfect retreat at any time of year. A rowing dinghy is provided so that our visitors can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful and unspoilt part of South West Cornwall.

The location is ideal for exploring the River and its many creeks as well as the renowned beaches, coastal and woodland walks around the Lizard Peninsula and many other Cornish attractions.

This well-appointed cottage is a 10 minute walk from the village of Mawgan, where there is an ancient 12c Church, Post Office/Shop and a pub. Helston (town of the Floral Dance)is a short drive and has many shops and a 24 hour supermarket too.

Every room in the Cottage enjoys an exclusive view of the Helford River, and has central heating by radiators. There is a well equipped kitchen with modern appliances, beamed lounge with large inglenook, three bedrooms: one kingsize, and four single beds, and a ground floor bathroom with shower. The large patio with garden furniture is ideal for eating out on those warm evenings. There is private parking for up to three vehicles. We can also supply a mooring in the channel for those visitors who wish to bring a small boat. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs for those who wish to dine out.

Local Area Details

The Lizard Peninsula offers something for all ages. Within ten minutes you can visit the historic Estate of Trelowarren with its woodland walks, National Trust Gardens, Flambards Theme Park, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Goonhilly Earth Satellite Station, numerous safe and sandy beaches like Kynance Cove, fishing harbours, go sailing, fishing, play golf or just bring or hire a bicycle and enjoy the country lanes. There is plenty to do and see. The New Maritime Museum at Falmouth is 30 minutes drive and St Ives, Newlyn and Penzance are all worth a visit.
