Local Area Details

Vera is a delightful town, which is home to a beautiful old town square, gardens and bullring. The resort has earned the prestigious blue flag for its 8km of white sandy beaches. Vera playa is now becoming an increasingly popular all year round resort both to live and take a holiday.
Vera playa also offers the only water park in the area, which is located only 5 minutes from Al Andalus Thalassa. Vera has a huge weekly market on Saturdays.

Garucha is a beautiful lively fishing town that still retains much of its original charm. It is famous for its Garucha prawns only fished in the local waters. It has a lovely beach and promenade with an excellend selection of restaurants and bars with man seafood restaurants. Garucha has a weekly market on Fridays.

Golf - the apartment is ideally situated near 3 top class 18 hold golf courses, all of which can be reached within a 10 minute drive, namely Desert Springs, Marino Gold, Valle del Este and Cortijo Grande.

Within a 10 minute drive there is a Go-Karting track that is open all year round.

Cabo de Gata National Park is a short drive away with it's stunning views and drives through the park, reaching many small coves and pretty villages.

Mojacar Pueblo, the world famous ancient Moorish village is located on top of the mountain looking out to sea from 172 metres high vantage point with spectacular views over the Almeria region. It has narrow windy streets with whitewashed houses decorated with flowers. There are some fabulous bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the wonderful views. There is a local market on Wednesdays.

Mojacar Playa is approximately 10km from the apartment. Here you will find many restaurants, bars, shops, banks, nightclubs, most of which are open all year round. It also has an excellent sandy beach.

Almeria city is a lively, modern and very Spanish commercial centre with a ferry terminal, sports marina and working fishing port. There's a wealth of museums, art galleries and tapas bars.

The Sierra Nevada mountains, offering excellent hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter can be reached in 2 hours.

Mini-Hollywood is a mock up of an American Wild West village set in the Tabernas desert. The set was used to film a Fistful of Dollars, The good, The Bad and The Ugly and the Magnificent Seven among around 100 other films. It is a great day out for the whole family with entertainment including mock cowboy shoot outs and dancing in the saloon.
