A self contained apartment, with its own entrance, accommodating up to 4 people. The apartment has a small terrace to the rear with views of the surrounding countryside. Once the entrance stairs has been negotiated all the accommodation is on one floor. Fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle, dining table and 6 chairs; lounge has sofa bed two armchairs, Satellite TV, DVD player; Bedroom 1 has double bed, hanging and shelving unit, chair and standard fan. Bedroom 2 has same furniture and fittings as Bedroom 1 except there are twin beds. Bathroom has full suite - bath with shower over, toilet, bidet, washbasin with mirror over. In small alcove is washing machine and is also where the iron and ironing board are stored.
On the rear terrace is the gas water heater - serviced annually - and housed in its own cupboard.

To the front of the house, there is also a courtyard, shared with the owner, (who resides on the ground floor) which gets the full sun but you can also seek the shade given by the mature orange tree. The apartment is centrally located in the town with all major facilities within a few minutes walk including restaurants, bars, medical centre, a municipal swimming pool and football ground. Also, just round the corner is a shop where you can get freshly baked bread and mouthwatering cakes and pastries (which is open on Sundays!)and a little further a bar which terrace overlooks the square where the local people go to meet and while away the evenings watching the world go by.

Olvera gives you the opportunity to explore and enjoy rural Spain in so many different ways, with walking, cycling, fishing, paragliding, and sightseeing. Olvera itself is worth exploring with cobbled streets leading up to the Moorish castle and church which tower over the town and can be seen from miles around. There is also a small musuem and tourist office located near the church.

Local Area Details

Olvera is located in the far north east corner of Cadiz province at a junction where it meets with the provinces of Seville and Malaga. There is beautiful green countryside to explore with the Via Verde a disused railway line within a short walk of the property on which you can walk or even hire a bicycle to explore. Two national parks are also within easy reach by car with plenty of wildlife and fauna to see as are the beautiful azure blue lakes of Zahara where many people go to swim have a picnic or BBQ along the shore line. If you are looking for more activity then there is paragliding, mountain bike riding, climbing, horse riding and more available in the area. The town has a very nice municipal swimming pool open Jun-Oct with outdoor seating and refreshments available, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to tempt you with a variety of tapas, fresh fish and even a couple of pizza restaurants. Ronda is within a 45 minute drive away as is Antequerra and there are quite a few smaller towns within a short distance of Olvera to visit and Seville or Malaga can be reached and enjoyed as a day out by car or by coach. The city of Cadiz is approx 1.5 hours drive from Olvera and Jerez - sherry growing region is just an hour away too.

Hiring a car is advisable to enable you to explore the surrounding countryside.

There are a number of bus services to Malaga, Seville and Ronda. At Ronda there is a railway station where you can catch a train to Gibraltrar, it takes about 2 hours. The roads are well maintained and not congested by traffic so trips to the coast are enjoyable. There is also a golf course in Antequerra, approx 45 minutes drive and even fishing can be enjoyed in the area (a guide can be provided and advice on licence required etc).

Airport transfers can be arranged if you do choose not to hire a car and just want to enjoy the town. Please request details.
