Property Details of Dordogne Cottage
A charming house,in a secluded spot among meadows and woodland.Situated midway between Perigueux and Bergerac,all of the Dordogne is within easy reach.
Accommodation comprises three double bedrooms, one on the ground floor (easy access) the two upstairs each have a double and a single bed. There are plenty of duvets, pillows, and blankets. The living room is spacious with two french windows opening on to the terrace. The fitted kitchen has a washing machine, a gas cooker, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, etc. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, and there is a separate toilet with a hand basin. The terrace has sun loungers, barbecue etc. South facing but with some tree shaded areas.
Local Area DetailsSight seeing: Bergerac, Perigueux, Sarlat, the caves at Lascaux and Rouffignac, La Roque Gageac, Domme, La Roque St Christophe, Beynac and further afield Rocamadour, are all popular spots, There is a lovely lake for swimming at Neufont where you can picnic under the trees, and another at Rosiers, each about five miles from the house along quiet country lanes. You may like to hire a canoe from one of the several locations along the Dordogne river, or take a more leisurely cruise on one of the larger craft that operate on the river at La Roque Gageac for example. At nearby Manzac there is a Michelin two star restaurant and many more good places to enjoy a meal in Vergt and area. Strawberries are a local speciality. A new Autoroute A89 is now in use from the A10 near Bordeaux and connects with the N21 south of Perigueux, which passes not far from the house. Bergerac airport is about 17 miles from the house and Bordeaux can be reached in about one and a half hours. Shopping is easy, Auchan is on the near side of Perigueux, and Intermarche and Casino are in Vergt, just four miles along a very quiet road from the house.
