Situated in eight acres of rural Yorkshire, Merricote is only 3 miles from the centre of York. You will find Merricote Cottages offers you a great place to relax and explore the surrounding area.

Once a traditional farm, Merricote has been sympathetically converetd to provide 7 cottages together with a detached bungalow. Cottages sleep between 2 and four comfortably and the bungalow can sleep up to 8.

Each cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard with hob, cooker, fidge, TV and video recorder. All linen, towels, eletricty, water and central heating are inlcuded in our prices.

Children are very welcome at Merricote and in addition to the large landscaped garden there are plenty of places to explore in the adjoinin 10 acres of woodland. Mountain bikes, the trampoline, the BBQ area and hot tub are firm family favourites. Cots and hig chairs can be requested at no extra cost and an excellent babysitting facilty is available.

Local Area Details

York city centre has something to offer everyone! There is much to see and do - you can choose from over twenty museums : The Jorvik Viking Centre, the Castle Museum and the National Railway Museum are very popular. Alternatively, take a cruise down the River OUse, see the sites from an open topped bus or take a leisurely walk around the famous city walls. York's famous Minster is also a must.

Merricote provides an excellent base for the Yorkshire Wolds, East Coast (notably the historic harbour at Whitby) and easy access to 'Heartbeat' Country.
