We have two lovely wooden chalets, set in their own private woodland, which overlook the stunning lake with the dam to one side and forest beyond. Three other similar chalets, which are empty for the majority of the year, and a small hotel restaurant make up the total of your neighbours in this secluded spot, yet you are only 4.5km from the town of Treignac and 200m from the beach.

This is an idyllic situation offering a tranquil, natural environment in which to base your holiday in the Corrèze, known as Le Pays Vert (The Green Country). Perfect for holidays, short breaks and house-hunting trips.

The accommodation itself has two double/twin bedrooms. Bedding is supplied and you can choose between either a double or two single beds in each bedroom, depending upon your requirements.

There are ensuite shower rooms, including shower, wc and handbasin leading off from each bedroom to give you privacy even whilst sharing your chalet with friends or family.

The living area has comfortable seating and a DVD player, a CD player, books, games and dvds are provided.

The kitchen/dining area provides for all your self-catering needs with a fridge, sink, small oven, 2 ring electric hob, kettle, coffee machine and utensils supplied. A table and 2 benches seat 4 people.

If you should require a washing machine, the campsite opposite the beach just 200m away has facilities for washing and drying clothes.

The terrace at the front of each chalet, which overlooks the lake, is furnished with a patio table and benches and there are 4 sun chairs.

Local Area Details

If you are feeling lively the area boasts several water sport activities, such as waterskiing on the nearby lakes, rafting, kayaking and canoeing on the rivers Vezere, Vienne and Dordogne, as well as on the various lakes where windsurfing is also a popular choice.

The lake is also ideal for swimming, with the sandy beach only 200m away from the chalets and is perfect for those who prefer to do nothing more strenuous than work on their tan.

Table tennis, volley ball and badminton can be played on the beach, where there is also a children's playground. Lifeguards survey the beach during July and August.

For the mountain bikers amongst you there are several VTT trails in the vicinity with some Black runs to test the most seasoned mountain biker. The Mountain Bike Championships were hosted here in June 2004. Mountain bikes can be hired locally.

Two local equestrian centres cater for learners and experienced riders alike, both of whom can go trekking on the peaceful woodland trails.

The tranquil Correze is a walker's paradise and Treignac is situated on the GR440 and G46, major official walking routes of France so you will be able to explore to your heart's content the unspoilt rolling hills and forests of the Correze.

There are four golf courses within an hour's drive of Treignac, two of which have 18 holes and two 9 holes. They are open all year round.

Correze offers 5000km of rivers and streams plus 4000 hectares of lakes and ponds, offering the fisherman carp, bream, tench, pike, perch and trout, amongst other varieties.
