The Barn Apartment at Simonicchi has six steps to the entrance from the parking area. It sleeps four in two ensuite bedrooms at either end. If you have more than four in your party there is an option to rent an additional en-suite double bedroom over the farmhouse arch. There is a full kitchen and dining room, an airy sitting room and a very private roof terrace with oudoor shower. This is a splendid place to sunbathe, watch the stars and dine al fresco with an expansive panorama of beech covered mountains and rolling chestnut forests stretching before you. Altogether it is an idyllic setting and promotes a feeling of wellbeing and spiritual refreshment. The entire farmstead is built against a hillside and has accommodation arranged on three self-contained levels. My mother and I use the two lower floors and are always available if help is needed. The converted barn which is offered for rental has private parking immediately off the driveway. An archway links the drive to an ancient muletrack, beyond which lie terraces of fruit trees, olives, flowers and lavender and green forests with villages nestling among the trees. The terraced gardens are for everyone's use and include a hydro massage jacuzzi.
