Local Area Details

The house is located in one of the best areas of Salt Spring, in a carefully planned area of 20 homes all with a southwesterly exposure and splendid views overlooking Stuart Channel and the Sansum Narrows, one of the choicest landholdings in all of the Canadian Gulf Islands. The development has an area of some 1,433 acres on the northwest side of Salt Spring and commands magnificent views . The land rises gradually west to east in a series of moderate benches offering sunny exposures; it is the warmest and sunniest substantial view property on the island...and the development is low-density to retain the rustic and country atmosphere but still provide the services of a more urban setting.

Salt Spring Island Information


Salt Spring Island is the largest of the GulfIslands (about 30 km by 10 km) and has a population of about 10,000. The island is a mix of spectacular forested, pastoral, mountain and seascapes.

The island is noted as an artistic community with many studios, galleries and craft fairs. There is a Saturday outdoor market of local wares and a Sunday studio tour. Many offer classes and seminars. The theatre is active as well.

Recreational facilities include golf courses, tennis, biking, horseback riding, walking, hiking, sailing, swimming, fishing (freshwater and salt). It is a great destination with lots to see and do.

A car is really a necessity in order to enjoy Salt Spring, as there is no public transportation.

The village of Ganges is situated near the centre of the island and is the hub of most of the fine dining and shopping.
