There is a choice of two beautiful apartments in the owners converted barn, both part of a lovingly cared for family home.They both have an exquisite view to the SW seen from all the main windows. Each sleeps 4 and has one double and one twin bedroom, a full dining- kitchen a sitting room and a private terrazzo, apart from the shared use of the garden and an idyllically sited barbecue patio. They are spacious very tastefully furnished with good antique and old furniture which likes to be treated with respect. There are rugs,tiles, old beams and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. There are all modern conveniences including central heating.The High Barn has ensuite shower rooms to the bedrooms and the Garden Terrace has one ensuite shower room and a cloakroom. The High Barn also has a reflector telescope for the use of amateur astronomers on its roof terrazzo.

Local Area Details

This is an area famous in Tuscany for its natural beauty, situated in the hills of the Piero della Francesca Trail, in the commune where sculptor Michelangelo was born. It is famous also for its many modestly priced family restaurants and for the fact that St. Francis chose nearby La Verna to escape from the troubles of the world and make his sanctuary.
The wonderful Mountains of the Moon(Alpe della Luna) loom to the east and the Casentino National Park offers its wild and spiritual mountain basin to explore, a few kilometers up the road. There are several delightful hill and walled towns nearby and also limitless opportunities for exploring the great cities of the area. Florence, Siena, Assisi to name a few, make memorable day trips. It is superb walking country with a web of ancient footpaths and mule tracks, pure air, herbs and wild flowers in abundance and apart from that there are open markets and the usual leisure activities in the the nearby towns.
