Property Details of Tuscany Villa
What do you get when a successful young couple from Florence decides to buy a country property and restore it from top to toe, sparing no expense? Well, when you start out with a sadly neglected but exquisite old patrician country home, you definitely have the necessary "good bones." Then if you add top-of-the-line Tuscan furniture and fabrics, plus state-of-the-art technology, you get a 5-star air-conditioned retreat that looks like a charming farmhouse. This one is so new that owners Rosi and Marco haven't even had time to build their Olympic swimming pool yet. That will be ready in June, 2004. For now, you can take advantage of the tasteful decor and low introductory prices.
From the front patio you enter into the 375-square-foot living room, which has terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings, four windows overlooking the countryside, a large table, and two sofas, one of which can convert into a double bed. Next door is the 485-square-foot dining room, with a big working fireplace, a table and chairs, and a California-style kitchen featuring a dishwasher, full fridge/freezer, oven, cooktop, microwave oven, toaster oven, toaster, juicer, blender, cappuccino machine, American coffeemaker, ceiling fan, and dishes for 24 people. You can also enter the kitchen directly from the garden.
From the dining room, one goes upstairs (about 20 steps) to the sleeping quarters, which include a 215-square-foot room with king or twin beds, terracotta floors, wardrobe, two windows, satellite TV and stereo; a 190-square-foot room with terracotta floors, queen bed, single bed, wardrobe, window, satellite TV and stereo; and a 270-square-foot master bedroom with queen bed, terracotta floors, wardrobe, satellite TV and stereo. The first two bedrooms share a hall bathroom with bathtub, separate massage/sauna shower, and large sink. The second bathroom, which opens off the hall and also off the master bedroom, has a Turkish bathtub and a Scotch shower (which massages you with alternating jets of hot and cold water). All the bathrooms are lined in marble.
An interesting feature of the house is that its garden side can actually be considered a fully-equipped second apartment. It can be accessed through the main kitchen (making the whole house one dwelling), or from the garden. It has a living room with two double sofas, a big-screen satellite TV and stereo, a second eat-in kitchen with dishwasher, full fridge, cooktop, oven and most of the same appliances as the larger kitchen, and a dining patio with teak table and chairs.
Completing the accommodations is a romantic double bedroom with ceramic floors, a canopy bed, working fireplace, satellite TV, stereo, wardrobe, and picture window, and a huge bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and separate tiled shower, double sinks and hair dryer.
As we said before, this property truly offers it all: a great location; a large private garden; air conditioning throughout; three working fireplaces with firewood; two dishwashers; two washing machines; satellite television in both living rooms and all bedrooms; mini-bar and safe in each bedroom; outdoor work-out gym; telephone with modem hook-up; four CD players including three with DVD players (hurrah, US DVDs work in Italy!); hair dryers and robes in all bathrooms; screens on all windows; iron and board; security system; parking for five cars; a swimming pool in 2004.
Local Area DetailsLocated just outside Ginestra Fiorentina, halfway between the Florentine and Sienese Chianti regions, and convenient to Pisa and Lucca, this property is perfected situated for day trips. The nearest restaurant is about 800 yards away, and all shops and services are less than 2 km from the house, which is reached via a 300-yard-long paved driveway. Two other country houses are nearby, but they are not continuously occupied and do not disturb the privacy of Villa Eva's guests as they sun in the large garden or dine al fresco on one of the two patios, furnished with teak tables and chairs.
