Levendis is a 7 acre, family owned organic olive oil producing Estate. It
is on the northern coast of the Ionian island of Ithaca, a small traditional safe-haven on the western and European side of Greece. Perched on a hillside and having spectacular sea views, four houses on the Estate, each with their own perfumed gardens, are scattered throughout the providing, providing a romantic honeymoon destination, a perfect location for summer family fun holidays and ideal accommodation for extended family holidays or groups of up to 18 people. Paths and stairways link the houses to organic vegetable and herb gardens, an outdoor cooking and dining area and morning coffee shop. Beyond, they lead to the pool and sun terrace, a holistic therapeutic massage pavilion hidden in the forest, and a quite separate farm area, which is home to chickens and sheep. Pebbled beaches are below the Estate.
Local Area DetailsThe island of Ithaca is steeped in the traditions of Ulysses, written about by Homer in 'The Illiad' and 'The Odyssey'. Tradition is also the backbone of island life today. Being a little off the beaten track, the island has not suffered the tourist invasion. It remains quiet, tranquil and unhurried, even in peak summer. Add to this its stunning geographic characteristics and you have the Greece of l975 with a few modern touches.
