Moonlight Villa is a traditional looking stone villa, furnished and equipped to a high comfort level. The villa layout is well designed with two of the bedrooms on the ground floor and the master bedroom on the first floor, affording privacy and a real sense of space.

It has wonderful views of Kalkan, the surrounding bays and the Taurus Mountains. The thick stonewalls and tiled roofs over the main bedroom and living area keeps it pleasantly cool. The property is not overlooked and is quiet and private. A 10- 15 minutes walk will bring you into the village & shops. As it is within easy reach a car is not always necessary.

The property has its own freshwater swimming pool (approx 26.2sqm)
and garden. The villa can be reached from the road on one level, and the ground floor and terrace continue on the same level.All doors & windows have full inscet screening.

It has an elevated position, whilst providing stunning views may be considered unsuitable for small children.

Local Area Details

Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and with an ambience that is very hard to match in other destinations. The village consists of narrow cobbled streets which all lead to the picturesque harbour here you will be able to enjoy a drink whilst watching the ?coming and going?s of harbour life. One of our favourites is the local caf頢ar at the light house which makes it?s own ice cream and where you will also find a warm welcome. There are also stylish Blues and Jazz bars. The village shops stay open till around midnight and are well stocked with hand crafted jewellery, clothing, textiles, barbers shops and much more.

Leading off from the harbour is a wonderful choice of restaurants where you can eat excellent food, many with roof top terraces offering a wonderful view of the harbour and the starlight night sky. The type of menus on offer is very varied ranging from very traditional Turkish cuisine to modern interpretations of the country?s food, all offering very good value for money. Depending upon your taste an above average meal costs for three courses for two people costs around ?35, normal fare in the more traditional restaurants is around ?15 for two.

There are also many trips offering canoeing, jeep safaris, white water rafting, horse riding in the mountains and scuba diving You can also hire your own boat to explore the coves around Kalkan,the cost is about ?45 per day and will take 4 people.
Xanthos and Islamar is about a 30 minute drive from Kalkan and well signed posted. This is the site of the Lycian capital city and has been excavated by the French from 1954. It contains a good example of an amphitheatre and mosaics. There is a shaded area to sit where you can buy drinks, and use the loos. From here you can take approximately a 30 minute drive to reach the mountain village of Islamlar where there are several good restaurants, which serve trout that is farmed in the area. The drive back to Kalkan is about 7 kilometres.

Saklikent Gorge (Turkey?s deepest gorge) where you can walk up the gorge in the icy waters, ideal if the temperatures soar.
The Sunken City of Kekova and the Village of Kale
You need to do this on an organised tour as you are driven to the village of Ucagiz, about 1hr 15mins from where you will travel by boat to the ancient Lycian city of Kekova, the remains which are mostly submerged as a result of the 4th & 5th century earthquakes. You will also stop off on the boat at the village of Kale where you can climb up to the St John?s crusader castle, which have the most wonderful views. Here you can buy good locally made textiles. Most boat trips will stop during the day for swimming and lunch is provided.
