Local Area DetailsIt is located near Villedieu-Les-Poeles, only 20 mins away from the nearest beaches and also the large town of Avranches is bout 20 mins. The cottage is on the outskirts of the small village of Fleury in a rural farmland location. The D Day landing beaches can be easily reached by car (about 45min - 1 hour) and there are nearby war cemeteries at St James (American) and Husines Sur Mer (German). The historic medieval town of Avranches is full of shops of all types from boutiques & antiques, hypermarkets of all kinds. Plus there are museums, gardens, a castle, swimming,tennis and sports centre plus numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. Granville port is only 20 minutes drive and from there Jersey can be reached on a day trip. Villedieu-Les-Poeles, famous for copper and brass is 10 minutes away.There are many beaches nearby with lots of events and activities in the high season such as horse riding on the sands, wind surfing, mirco light aircraft rides. There is a market in a nearby town every day of the week even Sunday. You will never be lost for something to do as it is a wonderful area for walking, cycling or just relaxing.
