Falcons Gate Cottage is ideally situated within easy reach of Northumbria’s ancient and historic castles at Bamburgh, Alnwick, Dunstanburgh, and Norham. Alnwick Castle was the location for the making of the Harry Potter movie and is also the home of the new £10,000,000 water gardens.

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be reached [tides allowing] within 45 minutes and there are many picturesque fishing harbours such as Seahouses, Eyemouth and Craster [famous for its kippers]

The Scottish Border towns of Coldstream, Kelso and Melrose are close by and St Cuthberts Way commences at Melrose.
Edinburgh and Newcastle can both be reached by train or car within 90 minutes.

Falcons Gate Cottage is well served by public footpaths and bridleways and is an ideal location for a relaxing and peaceful break for walkers, cyclists and tourists.

Good local inns are a short drive away which serve excellent food at very competitive prices.
