About Weather/Climate/Temperature
The area has a temperate climate in summer and pleasant temperatures in winter favoured by the warm "tramontana" wind descending from the Alps. Being south of the Alps especially in winter there are many days of cloudless weather, where as in summer thunderstorms, which last a few hours, refresh the air.

From March to October the "breva" is the typical thermic wind of the lake There are many famous sailing clubs, many schools of Wind-surf and Kit-surf offer courses for children and beginners, specialisation courses but particularly you can have fun.It is then possible to rent the facilities necessary to do this sport.During the day you can do a lot of things: hiking in the mountains (there are many hiking tracks), discover historical sites, sport (sailing, golf, windsurf, horse riding, climbing), shopping, have a rest in one of the many coffee shops for a cappuccino or an ice cream. Obviously the main attraction is the lake itself. You can sun bath on the beaches or hire a sailing boat. During the summer evenings most villages organise fireworks, art markets and music. And the food is excellent! There are numerous areas dedicated to sport and to nature-tourism such as the communal lido with its two swimming pools, a sports centre with tennis courts, a football ground and running-track.
About History
Como Lake is one of the most beautiful Italian Lakes. It is situated in a basin surrounded by mountains. The lake offers quite a varied landscape, with colourful scenery and surroundings all year round. The largest town on the south-west coast is Como, with historical monuments, and wonderful shops for that special purchase of Italian fashion and the weekly market where you can find everything from designer shoes and bags to pots and pans. The old roman road passing Cernobbio (Villa D'Este) Menaggio (Golf course) passing Isola Comacina (the only island in the lake) leads up to Gravedona and further up into Switzerland and Austria. This road was of great importance to the Romans for both conquering the barbarians, and for transport. You can also criss-cross the lake by boat with regular services. In Gravedona are plenty recreational activities regarding water sports.
