This privately owned 2 bedroom apartment is located in the charming El Pinaret area of Pto. Pollensa. It is under 100mts to the beautiful sandy beach, shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants are all close by and the famous "Pine Walk" is only a 10 minutes walk away. The apartment is on the ground floor of a small, mainly residential block, has secure entrance and parking and a good sized swimming pool.
The accommodation comprises of a large living/dining area, with table and chairs for 4 people, and the lounge area has sofas and patio doors which lead to a small patio area and to the pool. A TV set & DVD facilities are provided. The fully fitted open-plan kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, electric hob with extractor, fridge/freezer, microwave and other small domestic appliances. There is a utility room with washing machine, further storage space and an iron/board.
From the living/dining area there is access to the shower room and toilet and the two good sized twin bedrooms, both of which have built-in-wardrobes. Bed linen and towels (not beach) are provided and the apartment is serviced weekly. The apartment benefits from central heating, so is also ideal for a winter-sun break, and the south-west facing patio offers afternoon sun and superb views across to the Tramuntana mountain range.
Change-over day is normally Saturday, check-in from 2pm; vacate by 10 am - to allow for cleaning services.
Local Area DetailsPto. Pollensa is situated in the north-west of the island, about 55km from the capital of Palma. Transfer time from the airport is around 50 mins by car/taxi. Pto. Pollensa is a charming destination for that quiet, relaxing family holiday, both in or out of season.
The beautiful Bay of Pollensa with its wide sandy beach provides safe bathing and all the usual beach activities, including sailing, water-skiing, wind-surfing, pedelos and glass-bottom boat rides to the famous beach at Formentor. Pto. Pollensa also provides easy access to magnificent countryside and the western mountain ranges where you will find the spectacular gorge at La Colobra, the town and port of Soller and Deia, the latter made famous by the English poet Robert Graves, now home to some of the rich and famous.
For the bird and butterfly watchers, Albufera Natural Park is just 15 minutes away and for the golfers, apart from the 9 hole course at nearby Pollensa, there is a brand new 18 hole course at Alcanada, a 15 mins drive away. There are 4 more excellent uncrowded courses (Canyamel, Capdepera, Pula and Son Severa) on the north-east coast all under an hours drive and 36 holes at Son Antem, with a Nick Faldo golf-school, at the new Marriott resort near Llucmayor.
Pto. Pollensa, with its splendid marina, is less lively than most other resorts in Mallorca although hotels, restaurants and bars can provide plenty of entertainment. It benefits from a wealth of very nice restaurants offering all kinds of Mediterranean Cuisine and typical Spanish/Mallorcean dishes, tapas (a must to try) to Chinese, Indian and Thai. Tolos, Tango, Trio, Stay and Can Cuarassa restaurants are all excellent choices.
The Old Town of Pollensa is only a 5 minute drive away where, from the main square, you can explore El Calvario. This is a set of 365 steps - one for each day of the year - leading up to a hermitage and church with a life-sized image of the Virgin that supposedly dates from the 13th century. Climbers are rewarded with a fine view of the town, bay and surrounding countryside. There is also a regular bus service to Pollensa, Alcudia and the capital, Palma.
